Lauderdale Harbors

When I think of Lauderdale Harbors I think about scenic walks, great waterfront real estate, and seclusion. The neighborhood is set off all major roads, Cordova road is the main way in and out of the neighborhood. In fact most of the roads in the neighborhood see little traffic aside from residents, those slowing down for the speed bumps along Cordova road, and the occasional sightseer. There are some magnificent homes in Lauderdale Harbors that line the Intracoastal waterway. Owners in Lauderdale Harbors have chosen to put their homes up for sale only on rare occasions. Real estate inventory is limited in Lauderdale Harbors and tends to sell quickly once a home hits the market.

Without question there are some sprawling homes found on the Intracoastal within the boundaries of Lauderdale Harbors. However, there is a small section off of the water west of Cordova road that is called Cliff Lake. The Cliff Lake section is relatively small and is lined mainly by a thin lake, that looks more like a canal, running along it's western edge. There are a variety of trees that create a great canopy and give this section a very secluded feeling.

The only bridge between Lauderdale Harbors and the Atlantic Ocean is the 17th Street Causeway bridge. When closed the bridge is 55 feet high. For more information on the frequency of bridge openings or contact numbers, click here .

If you continue through the neighborhood you cannot miss the new development named Hemmingway Landings. This development is a great alternative for the avid boater that would like a dock as a backyard, but does not want to maintain a single family home. Hemmingway Landings is located on SE 12th Street. If you continue to follow SE 12th Street to the end you will come to the storied Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club.

Lauderdale Harbors is situated on a great piece of land. It has very close proximity to 17th Street, the Harbor Shops, and many great restaurants. Ask me about our favorite restaurants along SE 17th Street as there are too many to list. For those of us from Massachusetts, Kelly's Landing retains it's New England charm in South Florida.
